Just about done with this one but was hoping to get some input on the handle width. It fits the hand well but it certainly fills it and I think it might be too much. The thin blade makes the changes...

It does look kind of bulky in the bottom photo. Sounds like you think it's too big, so it probably is.

It's a carving tool, for "carving" fish. I'd like to use it. A long time ago, Gregg Blomberg, aka Kestrel Tool, came up with a concept for handle size for crooked knives, elbow adzes and D adzes....

Well it's ready for lacquer now. The piece i was gluing back on was only like 1mm thick at most so i decided to just reshape the bottom of the handle. I'll post some more pics later.

Sorry for not posting the end of this... This is how the handle shaping ended up. If I was to make this handle shape again I wouldn't cut the first finger notch quite as deep.

It's my third finished knife (two others still in progress). It flexes nicely with a little pressure but it's not flimsy. I just realised I didn't mention that the blade is made from chainsaw chain....
